ObjectNumber1994:20.2
DescriptionLeft boot of a pair of ladies' grey and green suede boots, mid-calf height. Leather sole and Louis heel, lace-up with green silk laces. Sole is stamped with "GEORGINA CHAUSSURES ROYALES / MADE IN CANADA". Matching boot 1994:20.1.
ProvenanceWedding wear, only worn once by donor's mother.
CommentsBy 1830 fashions for non-working women included boots. There was a return of the heel, and to give the appearance of daintiness, the boots were made on narrow lasts (moulds).
