DescriptionThe Victory Medal. Allied campaign medal for British and Imperial forces serving in the First World War. Bronze. Obverse: winged victory; reverse: "THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919". Rainbow coloured silk grosgrain ribbon.
CommentsBy convention, the 1914-1915 Star, the British War Medal, and the Victory Medal were all worn together and in the same order from left to right. They were affectionately dubbed 'Pip, Squeak, and Wilfred'.
