DescriptionWooden block used for shaping molten glass into globular shapes. Dark wood with burning marks on inside. Circular end for working glass and handle. Owned by glass blower from Whitefriars, name stamped onto underside of block.
CommentsThe block would be soaked in water until waterlogged, to reduce charring and create a 'cushion' of steam.
