Description | The Personal Life category contains materials related to a specific individual which were typically kept privately, and did not form a part of wider domestic life. Objects related to a specific person, even if not used by them, also fall within this category.
According to the SHIC system, it is divided into nine further sub-categories (note that there is no '8'):
HMC/S/1/0 - General HMC/S/1/1 - Personal administration and records HMC/S/1/2 - Relics, mementos, and memorials HMC/S/1/3 - Costume HMC/S/1/4 - Accessories not elsewhere specified HMC/S/1/5 - Toilet HMC/S/1/6 - Food, drink, and tobacco HMC/S/1/7 - Personal wellbeing HMC/S/1/9 - Personal life not elsewhere specified
Currently, all objects are catalogued under HMC/S/3. Future cataloguing projects at Headstone Manor & Museum will see objects sorted into their proper sub-categories.
