Comments
These embroidered postcards were very popular with British soliders in the First World War, although they were seldom sent through the post due to their fragility and cost. The hand embroidery is thought to have been carried out in homes as 'out-work' by civilians in France and Belgium, and in the UK by Belgian refugees. The lack of address on this one indicates it was probably sent accompanying a letter.
