Description
Whitefriars glass working 'Parchoffi'. Iron handled jack with wooden-tipped blades.
Provenance
Owned by Whitefriars glassblower Ronnie Wilkinson. Wilkinson worked at Whitefriars from 1940-1980.
Comments
Parchoffis are jacks with wooden-tipped blades that were soaked in water before use. They were used to open the pieces of glass without leaving as many marks. Paper would then be used to smooth the glass and create a finer finish.
