Description	Hamiltons brushmaking process model - banded dipped in vulcanised rubber. The metal banded dressing is dipped in rubber at the bottom and the bristles are trimmed evenly at the top.
Comments	To prepare the bristles ready to be fitted onto the handle, first the hair must be straightened by tightly binding it to a stick and then heated in a steam oven (2017:77). A laying-up band (2017:82) is knocked tightly onto the bristle with a mallet (2017:76) and the root of the bevelled knot is trimmed level (2017:78), before being dipped in rubber (2017:79). A ferrule is attached, and the brush head trimmed (2017:80) ready to be fitted onto the handle (2017:81).
