Description
Bayonet. Groove on length of iron blade. Hilt has remains of wood panel on each side, nailed on. Groove at top of hilt for attachment to gun. Small and large hooks at join of unit to blade. Tip broken.
Provenance
Found buried at Lower Priory Farm.
Comments
Not as short as the modern bayonet. Likely 19th century, but could be Napoleonoic or up to First Word War.
