DescriptionLithograph showing a view of the High Street, Harrow on the Hill. A figure stands centrally in the road with his hands in his pockets. A carter feeds his horses in the road (left) and a school master, a group of women, and two Harrow pupils are depicted by the wall of the school house (right). The view down the road includes various buildings, including a public house, and St Mary's church in the distance. Title printed at bottom centre: 'View of Harrow'. Around this title is the inscription: 'To the Rev'd Dr Longley and Masters of Harrow School, This View of Harrow, is respectfully inscribed by their obedient servant, John Mackay'. Artist details inscribed at bottom of image: 'On Stone by L. Haghe from a painting by Mackay'. Publication details below: 'Published by J. Mackay, Harrow. Day & Haghe Lithrs. to the King, Gate St. London'.
