Description
Stoneware flask. Matte streaky glaze, rather mottled. Angled shoulder, tall neck with cordon, narrow everted flat rim, straight body. Oval border stamp: "STIFF & Co., Lambeth". James Stiff started his career as a potter at Doulton and Watt's Lambeth Pottery. In 1842, he opened his own premises in Ferry Street, Lambeth.
