Description
Coloured lithograph showing Harrow Church. The Church is pictured at the end of a winding mud path, and set among wooden gravestones. Underneath the title two verses of poetry: 'A fit coronal of the beauteous scene/ High above all, the Village spire ascends,/ The Churchyard fill'd with tombs & graves so green,/ Of Parents, children, kindred, foes or friends/ And here serenly midst the leafy shade,/ Well might the Poet with to take his rest, In such a spot, that seems by nature made/ A peaceful home for those that lov'd her best'. Artist details bottom left: 'Drawn & Lith'd by N. Whitlock'. Production details bottom right: 'Printed by G. Madley'.
